Alright guys long time no visit, I have two Audi A6 One 08 and my latest a 2010
Now my 08 Which I've had from 2018 which has 230k and is still strong suddenly had the epb workshop warning and it locked me in the supermarket carpark so I jacked it up and removed the cables from both rear motors which allowed me to get it home without a parking fine...Only just!
The callipers were both stiff and the motors were both so I replaced them,on refitiing everything I then checked the boot fuses and a clicking sound went off, it locked the epb and I cannot shift reset it with the ebay autophix special. That allows me to move the calliper to replace the pads etc and its cheaper than that vcds think I used to have for my A3's
The 08 A6 has been the best car I have ever had after I replaced the balance shafts on it back in 2018.. What a motor!

Long story short I am selling the old 08 and I bought a 2010 with a few faults cheap, I like this model so much ok, but it has a few problems and I like cheap problem cars! The new car has a non working climate control, the fuse was replaced in the boot at euro car parts today and suddenly the ****** epb warning in the new one came on locking me in the car park,AGAIN lol, I was fuming same problem two cars? Long story short I removed the cables and eventually limped home, I am asking has messing with the boot fuses kicked the epb module out of wack or has removing the battery at some point caused this on both cars? I am sorry if its already been posted about I have no idea how to search these forums these day?

I also need help with the climate unit and where to start with a dead unit, is it worth buying one and trying it or do they need coding to the car? I now live in Devon if there are any vcds coders who can me or direct me? All the best

Steve

Check if there's any water ingress into the fuse holders thus corroding the connections but 2 cars same fault, how unlucky can you be, it would be one hell of a coincidence.

Hi Nige how good is it to see you are still so helpful on here! My mate and I actually questioned the validity of what I was saying to him so much so I took photos to send to him with my rear wheels off in Torquay euro car parts this morning, it is very unlucky tbh. But sadly very true
Thank you for the reply I will take a closer look at the fuse boxes Tomorrow
Good to see you Nige:icon thumright:

I've just put the 08 climate control facia into the 2010 to see if it works and it came on but then both sides turned off and it just says off and nothing worked now obviously because its not coded to the 2010 car ,so it has power to it which is a relief for me.

My question is will it be cheaper to buy a used unit for 25 quid and have it coded or will it be cheaper to have the original unit repaired?
