Hi all just picked up a audi A7 with the bigger screen and head up display i did a software update and was told this with enable the carplay feature but it didn’t work i have 2 usb ports in the arm rest but the say usb1 &usb2 not a phone symbol the car is 2017 model does this mean i cant get CarPlay?

CarPlay was definitely an option for 2017 cars so it sounds like either the software update you applied did not have it (or did not install correctly) or maybe having done the update you ned to then activate something to enable CarPlay. I fairly certain CaPlay is only possible as a wired connection on the C7. In the menus do you have the option to open CarPlay now and have you enabled CaPlay on your phone?
 
If you do not have the Audi Smartphone Applications icon as one of the tiles on the MMI screen then you do not have the feature enabled. If it is there but one you select it it does not offer you the option to switch from MMI to CarPlay then something is not right and needs sorting to make it work
