Just pondering on whether it's worth doing this upgrade and also the cost.

My allroad has MMI 2g with BT etc, but I wanted to upgrade to have wireless CarPlay.
Any feedback on the pros and cons of this would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you have 2G high then there are kits like a mr12volt one out there. I have the kit for my 3g mmi and it works well. Simple replace the cd changer and you're away, for me it was actually plug and play surprisingly.

If you have 2g low with the red dot screen then maybe a 2g high would be worth it, but for a 3g it's not worth it, from what I've read there are a lot of components that need changing for a factory 3g retrofit. If you're going to do it look at a 3g plus from the A8 (I think) retrofit for something a little unique.

As for the Chinese kits with the massive touch screen I've heard good and bad, they look OEM plus though.

Thanks for the reply, really appreciated.
I do have the MMI 2g high installed, which is ok for the most part, but just lacking that newer interface feel to things.
I have just performed the SW update from 2830 to 5570.
Things seem a bit quicker and smoother, but I'm not sure anything major has changed.
