Facelift Aftermarket Headlights

Hi All,

My headlights started to suffer badly from the silly yellowing/burning of the DRL strips and I've been looking at fixes.

I've been looking at options and I've found a set of aftermarket headlights and I'm quite keen on getting them.

When I was inspecting the current OEM ones I noticed some, what looked like Air Tubes going into them. Does anyone know what these are and if it will cause problems if I install a set of aftermarket headlights or any problems I might find in general?

I really don't want to be splashing out over £1k for OEM ones from Audi and don't want to break my current set trying to DYI fix the strips.

There was a guy on eBay who repairs them. I think it was around £200 per light but that was a while ago
 
he's still on there try to find him you might be lucky and the price might have gone down

Did you end up going with these? I am in the exact same position and can't decide if I should pay for repair or get these.

Nah I didn't end up getting these mostly due to this part of their description

"The LHD beam pattern on these headlights is noticeably sharper than OEM, meaning you’ll get a more focused light output. As a result, on bumpy roads, the LHD beam may appear to move more noticeably compared to the softer, more diffused factory headlights – this is completely normal. Due to the beam pattern being LHD we cannot guarantee the lights will pass mot. We wouldn’t advise these headlight should you often drive at night. "
 
No worries, did you just deal with the yellowing of your DRL's?
I have been hunting Alibaba but don't trust they will 100% be RHD lights and it's alot of money for them to arrive wrong, so I am leaning towards getting mine repaired for around £700 for the set the make sure they DRL colouring matches :cry:

Nah I've not done anything more. Decided not to will be getting a new car anyway so any money spent on the lights is instead going towards deposit.
