Engine cover insulation deteriorated

Hi all,
As the title hopefully suggests the old foam on the underside of my engine cover has deteriorated and practically come off. Bar a new cover has anyone got any good suggestions to remedy this? Or even just removed the insulation and run the plastic cover without it?

Remove & refit cover, the plastic is heat resistant anyway, probably just a noise insulation but kinda pointless imho, it's a derv like mine
