I have a 2004 avant that has had some boot motor issues.
I've had to use the emergency boot pull release so many times, that it has now snapped.
It's a thin piece of red plastic about 300mm long with a loop on one end that you pull to open the boot lid from inside the boot. I can't seem to find them when googling, not even a picture.
I have now replaced the boot motor, but would still like to have the emergency pull, just in case.
Can anybody help?

The little red plastic ring which sits behind the circular cover cap in the boot where you get to the bolt which removes the rear light? Inside right side?

I thought this red plastic ring was the emergency release for the fuel cap.

The boot unlocks on my B6 using the key inserted into the boot lock in emergencies.
