RS3 GT

Not gonna lie, I hope there's a little more to it than just some canards and 20bhp.

if that's 20bhp more in theory it'll be easier to get more from it with just a remap. Usually they use bigger injectors and a better spooling turbo to get more from it running the same maps as the model it was based on meaning they only scaled it back for worldwide emmision passing... bodywise it'll have more done to make it standout from the regular rs3 model.

Most likely another performance RS3
or a final RS3 GT limited edition to say goodbye to the 5-cylinder due to the stupid emissions standards.
No further information for now, but it is clear that they are working on something.

Coming soon to a cuzzy bro who will then crash it in either Bradford / Birmingham.

Hell no. I'm already tired of the comparisons between the Golf R and Audi S3 or RS3. Performance and driving wise there is some kind of a point but as a car the Golf feels so much cheaper than the price difference between A/S/RS3 that it really annoys me it's never mentioned. I don't think Golf deserves the 5-cylinder engine, just a poor decision by VAG (again).

Going by the below email I received last night the black car on track is not an genuine Audi model. The car the email links to is just a facelift 8.5Y.

RS 3

Spoke to my dealership about this yesterday. They had no info at all yet. He did say that it would likely be extremely difficult to get and a significant mark up. Both expected.

Got that email too, but judging by the mountain of emails I have had just recently trying to prise me out of my 8V I think sales are a bit thin on the ground and they might be trying to shift existing boxes before too many get wind of a GT or even a 5-pot Golf. :tearsofjoy:

Who’s going to buy one though at those prices lol.

Audi have lost their minds if they think 75k+ is a price people will pay, there’s too little interest now in the car and soon the 5 pot will be gone.

Trouble is people for a long time have not thought of the list price, only the monthly cost on the drip. That has gone up a bit but not as much as the list price would have you believe. Still a few around will sign up thrash the b0ll0x off it and dump it at 3 years.

My 8V was £57K as specc'd in 2017. Using the BOE inflation calculator today that is £76,629.16. It is only those of us that remember last time interest rates and inflation were high that are not surprised by this. Seen it all before.:crying:

I think some electrics are only going down because they were over-priced for a long time for what they are and what they actually cost to make and develop.

I am still not interested in anything past 2018, bought a good 2018 E-Golf as a runabout and still have something with a fully mechanical diesel for the heavy stuff and towing that will survive the next nuclear holocaust :tongueclosed:

I've always said don't buy an expensive car unless you can afford it. But if you can, then just go ahead and do it. They are fancy machines but only idiotic to have if they eat your salary. Thing is, Audi isn't the only brand that seems crazy expensive now. If you look at the competitors, you'll be looking at very similar prices too.

So should Audi axe the RS3 right away since it's too expensive...?

AutoTrader tells you all you need to know.

8.5Y is being discounted from the off, RS3 has lost its sparkle in the UK because of the lack of cheap tuning options, expensive to remove OPF’s, expensive to remap, etc etc.
there was a time when a certain demographic would pay £600 rag the nuts off it for, say 6
Months, then sell it on having basically ruined a lovely car.

The Uk is screwed, we are spanked for everything these days

I’ve seen a post online about a 8Y owner taking one of the early 22 year cars for MOT and it failed because the innit bro previous owner removed the OPFs and left it in a right old state.

Oh dear, 70k car and 6k miles

I see Audi dealers are as helpful as ever.

I would hate to try and buy a used RS3 now. Just a waste of so much time looking at rubbish, even on cars less than a year old. I know several looking. Keeping my 8V going for as long as I can

To be fair it is happening other places too, BMW, even Porkers, as for Mercs..............

Couldn't have put it better myself, Keeping my 8V going for as long as I can, after that who knows. Won't be a newer RS car, that's for certain.

I had the Drive System fault (21k miles) it took the stealer (and Audi UK) 15 days to work out and replace 3 DI injectors and the intake manifold. The latter fault appeared the moment the mot tester drove it off the ramp.

TBF it hasn't missed a beat since I got it back and have no complaints about the level of service I received.

Perhaps some early cars were fitted with a bad batch of injectors?

Another video posted of it doing laps at Nurburgring. Looks like it is a GT version, so assume it's the final swan song for it in its current guise
Watched so many cars do laps of the ring, that just does nothing for me, the fact it may be a couple of tenths quicker than the last one before they bin the tyres and brakes still doesn't make me want to buy one.

it may be a legendary engine but the sound is strangled in its current form.

My 2016 8v was absolutely incredible and I so wish I had kept that car, something to hold onto almost indefinitely.

But my 8y didn't give me any of the sound excitement that the 8v provided on every turn of the key, every downshift, every acceleration ... it made each journey an occasion !

This country and the government / regulations is just taking away any enjoyment from new car ownership piece by piece.

Up until around 5 years ago getting a new car was something to be enjoyed ... if I reel off all the Audi cars I have bought and shared on this site starting from 2008 to 2021 ... now there is nothing in the brand which interests me and for 13 years I bought nothing else be it TT / TTS / S5 / RS3
