rear break pads

i know this is probably a stupid question. right I know my rear break pads need changing on my a3 8v 1.6 tdi and has come up with warning on dashboard so am guessing they have rear sensors on pads. don't take **** out of me for been a bit clueless just want a yes or no answer please no **** takers

No wear sensor on rear.

As Darren92 says, the rears don’t have sensors. So you should check the fronts as well. The front sensors rely on an electric circuit - the wiring passes through the pad, until the wear reaches the point at which the circuit is broken, whereupon the warning is triggered. Of course, if the wiring has an open circuit for some other reason, you get a false warning. But don’t ignore it.
