I received a “Transmission fault: Please stop the vehicle and shift to P” warning, with no prior symptoms — the car was running fine, no signs of issues at all.

I turned off the engine, waited a bit, and then restarted it — the error disappeared completely.

Later I scanned with VCDS and found two fault codes:
• P1701 – Transmission control unit locked
• P150E – Vehicle speed sensor and ABS mismatch

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I’ve been asking mechanics in the area and getting different answers. One said it could be a connector with oxidized pins or a shorted wire, another said it's a sensor that detects box speed, and another said it might be the cooling system inside the transmission.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
