Hi All
I have a 2021 Audi A4 40 TDI Quattro, Ecu Firmware is on 1854 And TCU is on 0002, Current ones I can see are Ecu 4025 and TCU 0004. Has any one had theirs upgraded/updated and what differences has it made?
Thanks
This sounds similar. I have an S4 TDi Avant from 2019. (1 of the 12 introduction to market cars configured by Audi Germany and Audi U.K. with full Vorsprung spec and a few other items you couldn’t order in the U.K.
We were experiencing a few odd things to do with gearbox lag, braking sensitivity with the pedal top end loaded and lots of MMI issues so as no WiFi Hotspot and the system not recognising that additional packages had been purchased.
Despite an Audi main dealer telling us all software revision were upto date this was a lie. Audi U.K. told us they suspected that given the issues that the ECU and other systems may require updates and possibly even some hardware changes.
Turns out the car was still running pre customer release level software in other words software that was pre customer cars even.
Once Audi U.K. booked the car into my local Audi main dealer all was uncovered and the car was missing multiple upgrades and revisions a lots of software including the ECU dating back last 6 year! The car took 6hours to ingest the new software and update the systems. Now over the air updates work which never did before!
Everything now runs perfectly.
When I asked the Audi dealership why these hadn’t been applied they said they don’t check for any software upgrades or fixes unless the customer requests it or there is a fault that requires installing the new software. I find that appalling for many reasons.
We have a Porsche 911 and everytime it goes in for a major or minor service a check for any upgrades is done and any found are installed as a matter of course - the customer doesn’t have to ask.
