Audi RS 3: Sharper, Faster, and Built for the Apex

One year after shattering the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for compact cars, Audi’s RS 321 continues to redefine what’s possible in its segment. The latest evolution of the RS 321—armed with 400 PS from its iconic five-cylinder engine, a finely tuned chassis, and semi-slick tire options—shaved over seven seconds off the previous model’s lap time around the grueling 20.832-kilometer Eifel circuit.

Since debuting the torque splitter in 2021, the RS 321 has moved into an entirely new league of dynamic handling. By actively distributing torque across the rear axle, the system significantly improves both agility and stability—delivering performance benefits on the track and in everyday driving. For the refresh, Audi engineers recalibrated the RS 321’s chassis systems to deliver even more precise control in corners. A smarter algorithm allows the car’s network of control systems to react quicker and more intelligently, enhancing agility right from turn-in. The car’s advanced brake torque vectoring helps eliminate understeer at the start of a bend. By subtly braking the inside wheels and sending power to the outer rear wheel, the RS 321 carves through corners with surgical precision. This lets drivers hit the apex sooner and carry greater speed out of the curve.

Tire performance plays a crucial role in this capability. The RS 321 comes standard with specially developed Pirelli P Zero R tires—265/30 at the front and 245/35 at the rear—which feature a unique multi-compound tread for superior grip in both dry and wet conditions. These tires strike the perfect balance between everyday comfort and dynamic, responsive handling. For those seeking maximum track-day thrills, Audi also offers the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slicks straight from the factory. Designed with motorsport technology, these tires provide extreme grip, shorter braking distances, and exceptional cornering performance in dry conditions—while still being legal for public roads. As with the standard tire, the Trofeo R was co-developed with Pirelli specifically for the RS 321, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance in every scenario.

With its latest enhancements, the Audi RS 321 isn’t just faster—it’s smarter, sharper, and more thrilling than ever.
