Hi all,

I’m looking for help reprogramming the View button on a facelift steering wheel I retrofitted to my 2016 pre-facelift Audi S3 (8V). My car does not have the Virtual Cockpit, and while all other buttons on the new wheel work perfectly, the View button does nothing—as expected since it's designed for VC-equipped models.

Setup Details:

Car: 2016 Audi S3 (8V, pre-facelift)

Steering Wheel: Facelift model with View button (from VC-equipped car)

Instrument Cluster: Standard analog (no VC)

Tool: OBDeleven (Pro version)

Goal:

I want to reassign the View button to replicate the Menu button function from the original wheel.

❓ Questions:

Has anyone successfully reassigned the View button on a facelift wheel in a non-VC car?

Are there specific byte/bit values in Long Coding or hidden adaptations I should look for?

Is VCDS better suited for this kind of remapping than OBDeleven?

I am not very advanced so if you can please provide details regarding Any help, coding examples, or screenshots would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Cannot be coded. Buttons work on LIN network. Would need a signal converter module or alike. Easier to just source a replacement / correct set of buttons.
