Is the fl s3 really more bhp than the pre fl s3

Guess you’d need to dyno them to find out but face lift certainly feels more responsive and eager to me.
Whether it’s the new diff or that I now have the adaptive dampers, the face lift also feels more focussed in terms of handling.

I’ve got about another year left before I need to decide what to do with my pfl s3. I can’t justify going from £525 a month to circa £800 for the fl, is a crazy increase

I've just spent 8 months in a 2024 S3 8Y 310bhp, 13,500 miles
Came out of that into a 2025 74 plate S3 8Y 333bhp
, currently on 15,500 miles in 8 months also.
Both models, Black Edition Tech pack Pro
I can confirm, that the only difference with the engine / power is more and noticeable - the IS38 found in the PFL car has been replaced with a Continental Turbo charger in the FL vehicle
The power delivery is very different on the cars, the FL uses a kind of antilog feature, where is builds boost below 2000rpm
The RS3 style torque vectoring rear diff combined with the slight increase in power makes for a noticeable difference between the PFL and FL cars and the way they drive
The cars have a host of other smaller differences .... all that make for an overall positive impression of the car over the PFL
I'm really pleased, overall, with the FL car

I bet if I did go for the fl in a year or so when my pcp ends, they’d bring a new one out 6 months later lol
Facelift was done 4 years after the original car came out so I don't think the new one would be out that soon. Unless VAG finds out the current generation of Golf siblings is too unprofitable to maintain any longer than what's needed to complete the new generation - to the point where it can be shoved to market unfinished. Then you'd be only happy owning a late 8Y probably in its best form. I learned my lesson and won't be buying a new car before it's been in production for at least a year.
Still can’t work out how the fl can be at least another £170 a month than my pfl s3 on the same pcp deal and deposit etc (I know the fl is more expensive obviously). how can they expect people to pay that much more to get their next car after their pcp ends? Surely that would affect sales? My pfl is £525 month and the new one on Audi pcp calculator is £670 month. I can’t pay that
That's much less than the minimum per month you could get the S3 in your hands in Finland... But even Toyotas cost crazy money now.
Those are shocking pcp prices ! I think you need to ask your dealer to sharpen their pencil - i paid 405 pm for my pfl s3 (2021) and am currently paying 506 pm for my fl s3 (2024). Put down £1500 deposit each time.
How can you get it for only £506? The Audi website with a £5100 deposit comes out at £660 odd. When I got my pfl I did manage to get it around £50 a month less than their website but I can’t see how you get it for £506 when I’m getting £660 with a big deposit too?
Well i have bought multiple cars from my dealer over the years (24 years driving various Audis) and have a number of family members who i have referred on, so maybe it’s a loyalty thing with a bit of discount coming my way. Can you negotiate a bit more on the website price ? Play one dealership off against another if you have a couple nearby ?
Yea they gave me about 3k more value on the car than the settlement figure of the previous pcp, and a dealer contribution of about 2k too i think.
My gfv is £25k, im hoping to have at least £3k equity but hard to know what the values will be in a year or so. My spec car is currently selling for around £36k on Audis used stock.

I Hopefully they at least start putting the s3 badge on the front soon. Surely they must be listening to everyone saying how bad it looks without the badge? Looks like a normal a3 from the front
I think it's almost hilarious how BMW has been scattering the //M badges on every possible place and everybody's been raging about it now for a long time. Now that Audi has removed a one single badge it's a major problem for everyone.
The S3 has always looked the same as the A3 from the front. Only car people pay attention to the badge and they would recognize the S model anyway. I wouldn't mind either way, ppl will know it's the S when you floor it.
I checked some pics and noticed that the A3 S-line has now got an S-line badge on the top corners of the front wheel arches. The S3 doesn't have any. Same goes for BMW - the M135i has got M badges by the wheel arches too but the M2 only got the boot lid badge and a very small one on the grid of the grille. So looks like the manufacturers think the sport trims need to be shouted out by the badges but the real sporty models don't need them.

Well my pfl black edition front looks much better than the standard 3 as it had the honey comb type front, the new fl s3 looks thicker plastic more like a standard a3, even the front of the rs3 doesn’t look as good on the fl. wonder why Audi decided to remove the badges on the front? Must be a reason but I’ve never heard anyone complain about the front of the cars before
Also, the only extra paid for upgrade I’d want on the fl is the akroppvic exhaust but that’s £4k so will push the pcp payments up quite a lot, are Audi generally able to negotiate things like that and not charge me as much? As the calculator is current £660 a month for the standard s3 so adding the £4 exhaust wokld make the payments around £750 month plus
PFL A3 grille is always honeycomb (like mine) but the S3 has got some decorative bits on it. It's the same way by the facelift. Black optics for the FL may not be the way to go, it makes the new grille look bulky, which indeed isn't a success.
I much prefer the FL RS3 to the PFL one, the overall lines are cleaner and the car looks much more confident. Some minor details are worse though but as a whole it's a whole lot better now.
