Access Green Hidden Engineering Menu:

Car + Menu Buttons for 6 secs

Access Red Engineering Menu:
Back + Tone buttons

MMI Reboot / Exit Red Menu:
Tone + centre button + top right corner button

With VCDS, I Have Enabled:

Front Fog Lights As Cornering Lights

Control unit “09-Central Electric”
“07 Coding”
“Long Coding Helper”
Byte 14, Bit 7

Needle Swoosh
“17 Instruments”
“10 Adaption”
“Channel”
IDEO187- Staging
new value set as “active”
Ignition on and off to finish

Folding Mirrors On Door Locking
“42 (door Electrical driver)”
“07 Coding”
“Long Coding”
Activate Byte 4 , Bit 6 ** See Note **

Then repeat for passenger door .

“52 (door Electrical front passenger)
“07 Coding”
“Long Coding “
Activate Byte 4, Bit 6 ** See Note **

Note :
Warning ! - On my modules these had no label files, I had to count / modify binary bits backwards right to left , and then cut paste the new long code manually , bit of a
leap of faith but it worked. Always save your before and after values )

All mods at your own risk,
I have just picked these from various internet sources..

Already Active:
  • Advanced Key
  • Auto lights and wipers
  • Auto dimming mirrors
  • Mirror dip in reverse
  • Leaving home/ Coming home lights
  • Hill Hold Assist
  • Comfort Indicators set to 3
  • Eject CD/DVD unlocked
  • Green engineering mode
  • Auto windows with remote
  • Auto locking if doors don’t open within 1m
  • Auto locking 15mph
So far unsuccessful with lock / unlock chirp, I suspect I don’t have it to enable. H12 siren output test and usual alarm tests reveal nothing.

Future : Investigate TPMS.

As a Japanese import I needed to enable DRL for the UK as it’s disabled in Japan.

Control unit “09-Central Electric”

“07 Coding”

“Long Coding Helper”

Byte 15
Enabled

Bit 3. Daytime running lights (DRL) inactive with turn signals active ( drl dims during indicator)

Bit 6. Daytime running lights ( DRL) via separate lights active.

Bit 7. Instrument cluster menu for separate Daytime running lights ( DRL) deactivation ( allows switching of DRL on /off in MMI menu , under Car / vehicle settings / Exterior Lighting )
