Hi all,
Just a line to say how impressed I am with a portable A/C unit I got last week. They start from about £180 for basic 7,000 BTU models, but I went for a 9,000 BTU for £260 from Amazon.
So effective, they are a little noisy though, it's not the machine itself, it's the air being sucked in the back and pushed out the front. This thing moves tons of air.
6" diameter hose out the window and sealed off etc.
I had a feeling it would be good, but didn't realise just how effective it would be. 67cm tall and just under a foot square footprint roughly, so it's not a great big thing.
Pretty heavy, mine weighs in at about 24kg, but can easily be pushed around room to room as it's on wheels.
My room isn't big, and I doubt I'd be able to sleep with it running, but great to run the machine for 5 mins and cool it right down before going to bed.
