Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share my recent DIY project — I installed a 12.3″ touchscreen retrofit kit (compatible with the AerisAuto link below) in my 2012 A7. It replaces the factory screen and adds both wired CarPlay / Android Auto, plus the ability to flip back to OEM MMI when needed. Fits really clean, and the integration feels seamless.
Pic below shows the completed install — I think the look is tidy and modern.

Overall I’m really happy with the swap — it modernizes the infotainment without messing up the original feel. If you're on a similar C7 platform and thinking about a smoother CarPlay experience, this could be worth a look.

I’ve had my RSNav S4 unit installed for a few years now (around 2022ish) and love the updated look it gives to the dashboard.
It was a total PITA to install mind, and definitely not for the faint hearted.
It has its quirks - like most Chinese non-OEM headunits - but overall I like it. and have wireless connectivity using a plug in dongle. The built in wireless connectivity is/was very temperamental and used to drive me nuts.

Ive had the S7 from new, and while I like the new RS7 C8, I can’t justify the price - even used. The upgraded screen at least gave the dash a fresh look
