Evening everyone. It’s with great sadness that I have to tell you that our member 45bvtc (John) has passed away after a long illness. He was a great contributor on the forum and a very special friend to myself and many others. He will be sadly missed

It's always sad when someone you know passes away.
John was very passionate about his cars, maybe sometimes too much, but he was always a car mad sole at heart and we had many conversations over the years both publicly and privately.
I'm glad I finally got to meet him back in February when I had the opportunity and may he now rest in peace with his one true love.

RIP John

I lost a good friend.

John Hawthorne was a true gent and he and his late wife Judith were a lovely couple.

John had an infectious enthusiasm about all things cars and is beloved RS3 “Bluey”

Rest in peace my friend, you’re now with Judith.

John was the 1st person to give me advice when I joined this Forum and we continued to enjoy the banter in "The number in a photo thread".
Sadly missed. RIP.

Didn’t matter to John if you were in your best suit or a boiler suit, he’d come up and introduce himself, and make you feel like you’ve known him for years.

One of the nicest guys on and off the forum.

RIP friend.

Rip John, a true enthusiast and gentleman. I last messaged him directly after the passing of his wife Judith, who was always by his side every time I saw him. Hopefully they are back together now enjoying the roads in heaven.

It was really sad. I remember that you were at the Stafford Audi meet. I organised it and really enjoyed reading all about it.

That's good to know it went to a good home.

John loved that car as did he love all the cars he and Judith had over the years.........
