The sensor next to the reg plate is damaged, looks like a stone has hit it (what's the chances).

Audi want £458 to replace it.

Does anyone know what is involved in replacing one? The part is £35

Paint, lacquer, sometimes you can reach from the gap between grill & lock carrier or bumper of, unfortunately they only come primed unless Audi have changed again how they're sold, they don't do in-house painting these days so they're outsourcing unless it's a gloss black & they may sell these painted.

£35 for a brand new sensor from Audi seems quite cheap. Could you PM me your reg or vin and I can double check for you?

Does anyone know if removing the headlight / top trim (bonnet release panel) would give access to the back of the grille to get to the sensor?

Can almost release the sensor through the honeycomb grille, managed to release the bottom lug but cant get enough pressure on the upper lug.

Will give it another go some time.

Is it possible to remove the undertray to gain access to the space between the intercooler and the back of the grille?
