Not the blue oval ones… I went for a day out in Shropshire today and came across a ford near Maesbury Marsh. The dry spring, absence of a depth marker, and the relatively short distance from one side to the other lulled me into a false sense of security, so I was somewhat unnerved to see a significant bow wave - it was a lot deeper than I expected. Fortunately the air intake was unscathed, so there’s no engine damage. After a quick look under the bonnet, I went on my way, but… to my surprise a few miles later there was the most awful racket and I pulled over. The engine undertray had come adrift at the front - presumably having sheared at least some of its fixings. There’s very little you can get at by the roadside, but fortunately after some pushing and shoving I managed to get one of the tabs back under the front skirt, enabling me to get home safely.
So that’s my task for tomorrow sorted.
