Hi, first post in here. I’m getting a 2014 Allroad C7 3.0 TFSI petrol, which seems pretty rare in the UK, as 99% are diesel.

There’s not much info around in relation to these so I’m wondering whether there’s anything to look out for in terms of preventative maintenance or common failure points with that drivetrain in particular. I’m importing it from Japan and it’s on 65k miles. First job once it lands is to convert the instrument cluster and infotainment to UK spec. Currently searching for someone in the South West (Wiltshire/Bath area) to do this and also wondering if CarPlay can be added. No idea what it has on it apart from a Pan roof as I can’t find a working VIN decoder (seems easy enough for BMW but none I can find for Audi).

Maybe look at the C7 forum on AudiWorld as the 3.0TFSi was the standard offering in the US. You won't need be able to do a simple upgrade to CarPlay on a 2014, but there are options available to enable CarPlay on the car for both the RMC and 3G+ set-ups

Thanks. I’ll check out Audi World. How would I tell whether it’s RMC or 3G+?

Simplest way is to see whether the 2 SD Card slots below the screen are behind a flap or not. Flap = 3G+ and no flap = RMC. In the RMC version the map data sits on a SD Card n the 3G+ the map data sits on a hard drive that also space to upload music. 3G+ also gets larger MMI screen
