Audi have effectively killed off the RS3 at those prices, there’s no chatter about it anymore, back when it was launched and for many years up until 2020 the RS3 was the car to get in terms of what was under the bonnet, not any more as interest on forums etc has gone.Audi themselves are having a laugh, car prices are insane, no wonder byd & Chinese brands will win as you get twice as much of a car for half the price & less & they shift man, some are stupidly quick & the range coming out for some is crazy, subsidised by Chinese government but hey it's not like other countries don't do the same for their brands.
The depreciation on the BMW's is scary.I know, prices are mad. In Audi today waiting on my service. They had a RS3 8.5y at 65k and finance at 10.4 on a new car. No way I would have paid that money.
New M2 CS will be 100k+ with ceramics and decent paint colour.
Yaris GR Ogier edition being punted at 80k+
Yup: eight months ago, my end of line FY SQ5 cost £58,000, discounted from a list price of £64,000. Currently, the cheapest new gen-3 SQ5 available for sale in the UK is over £76,000.Audi themselves are having a laugh, car prices are insane, no wonder byd & Chinese brands will win as you get twice as much of a car for half the price & less & they shift man, some are stupidly quick & the range coming out for some is crazy, subsidised by Chinese government but hey it's not like other countries don't do the same for their brands.
What colour bud. Should sound ok. They look good. You gone for the standard or upgraded alloys. Like both. Standards look very similar to ones on my RS.Cheers Carl. Has the torque splitter.
Basically all options bar leather (seats are more comfortable and heat up quicker with the alcantara style), £3.5k akra exhaust and carbon inlays. With the DTD discount basically got all options thrown in.
Car is built and on way to the port so 3-4 weeks hopefully.
Lapiz blue obviously. Pano roof and the upgraded lightweights alloys. Back to the blue and black theme as per the old S3.What colour bud. Should sound ok. They look good. You gone for the standard or upgraded alloys. Like both. Standards look very similar to ones on my RS.
I'm a big Golf R fan, had a 7.5 for 4 years and loved it, really wanted a Mk8 but couldnt get on with the early infotainment system, heater controls etc.My head ruled over my heart. I lusted over a 8.5Y RS3 for months, but even with the DTD discount, I couldn't make the figures work. As it was going to be PCP, more disposable my/family's way is more important right now. I even looked into 8Y models with limited mileage, but finance is just mental right now. I went back to BMW to try and trade the M for M, but even they couldn't work a deal for a M3 which is all I would move into from the X3M (I just couldn't get my eyes to agree with the new M2).
So, I've gone slightly rogue and ordered a Golf R Black Edition. It's a bit Swiss Army Knife in that it'll carry the family and the dog, has the all wheel drive I need for country living and has a tow bar option for the eMTB. It's rapid enough and is surprisingly more engaging in the twisty roads than I expected. Mind you, despite the M badge and configurable drivetrain, the weight and ride height of the X3M holds it back (slightly) on the B roads. It goes like stink otherwise. VW were a joy to deal with and they matched the DTD deal without a fuss. So I'm happy that I've a do it all, nippy, decent looking small hatch for a deal. Happy enough for now anyway. I'll keep my eyes on prices and look to trade into a 8.5Y at some point as the noise and the bucket seats alone are enough for me to move, but for the right price. That and the restraining order from the local Audi dealership for the time I spent there over the last few months in the showroom sitting in their various RS3s. I did have a 7.5 GTI for 2 years and it was a great car, so I've high hopes for the R. Why shouldn't I, it's a Golf after all!
Has it arrived yet bud?Lapiz blue obviously. Pano roof and the upgraded lightweights alloys. Back to the blue and black theme as per the old S3.
Colin picked one up earlier in the year after he moved on his 8Y RS3 to fund a house build. Not many 8.5s around town so should be more exclusive than the older ones.
Will def be more engaging on early Sunday drives out Deeside than the X3M. Excited to get it. New car days outstrip new bike days everytime!
