Hi All..
Has the title reads - I'v been waiting years to get my hands on a A7 and Bingo, one came into my buget - So I have become a very happy owner of a 2012 A7
and what a car to drive!! She needs a bit of TLC just on her wheels but a small price to pay. Still have it under it's 3 months warranty but after a few days it came
up with an error on the dash "Child-proof catch: system fault” I phoned the palce I got her from and explaned what was happening and I was told - No problem it's
a common fault, bring it back and will fix a new module, great I thought a garage that stands by it's word (any problems come back) - Will see if that happens!!

My son came around and we plugged in his Carly reader and it came up with 3 other problems which are :-

1) DTC-00471 (Controller for EGD electronically regulated absorption)
2) B200004 (ECU permanently disturbed)
3) DTC-01134 Alarm horn fault.

And this where I need your help - I haven't got a clue what the errors mean (even looked on google with not much luck) I don't want the old BS from
the garage. And has the old saying go's "if you want peace prepare for war" lol.

thanks & kind regards
Martin.

Congrats on the purchase - I had the facelift version to yours for a number of years - probably still my favourite car to date!

With the errors, are these new errors or old? One thing I usually do is clear them all - blank slate and then scan again.
Sometimes when work is done to the cars and/or battery is disconnected, you get some off faults logged.

I can't remember if this is still valid but the horn fault could be related to the backup battery however unsure if the A7 has one for the alarm or not

I never knew about the errors till my lad scanned the car - But he did clear them all and they all came back on the next scan, ref the alarm
The alarn isn't working, I opened the window then locked the car but the alarm never went off - maybe that's something to do with Alarm horn fault problem
but I would have thought the lights would flash. - on the funny side, and this how much I wanted a A7 I have moved all the CCTV to cover the car - sod the house
knowone's going near my car! :yahoo:

Can anyone tell me how bad the error codes are and any knock on effects that could hiding in the background?

thanks & regards
Martin.
