Hi All

My 2016 A4 B9 Avant deveoped an EML light about a week ago,

I thought I'd try and identify the cause of the light coming on, before contacting Audi to book in to get it looked at ... (hopefully whatever it is the warraty will cover it).

Anyway .. I purchased a very basic code reader from Amazon hoping this would be able to shed some light on the cause ... although from what I can see, I am going to assume this reader isnt actually compatible with my car or (more likely) I'm doing something wrong.

It states that management light isnt NOT on , and the I/M sensor readiness are all showing as N/A ... so I am assuming it just cant read the car sensors.

Does anyone have any experience with this item or know if its going to be of any use to me here?

I would appreciated any support or insight here,

Thanks all :)

you can bin it... you'll need a VAG specific code reader.. cheapest one and easiest to use will be OBDeleven.... you'll need to download an app for andriod OS or Iphone OS and buy their specific bleutooth obd2 device it is very capable and usually enough for DIY purposes.

I went to a local garage and had the codes read for £20 ..

P067100 Cyclinder 1 Glow Plug Circuit

Sounds like something that should Hopefully be covered under the warranty .. we'll see.

Not sure what the warranty is for this car?

On 2016 vehicle - I can't see it being Approved Audi, but for argument's sake let's say it is - then Audi will routinely charge you for the diagnostic even if you have an error code from third-party garage or even if you're running VCDS from a laptop. If the car is under warranty - then that charge will be free if the issue is traced back to the root cause. Anyway - hope you get it resolved. Don't attempt a repair on the glow-plugs yourself, however tempting. Normally get the engine up to temperature and use PlusGas or similar to penetrate the threads a few days before attempting.
