Hello everyone,

Just coming here for some reassurance really.
I got a brand new Audi Q5 edition one on the 19th April. TDI Quattro. It is now in the dealership for a third time because the check engine light has come on.
Dealer thinks it will be an eventual software update but Audi technical won’t confirm it yet.
I have been given a A6 demo car in the meantime which is great but it’s much thirstier than my car as it petrol Quattro. I cant help but feel like I am overpaying on the lease as my car is higher value and I have only had it half the time I have owned it.
This is my third Audi and I’m torn over what to do. At the moment it is sat at the dealership. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.

Software issues are plaguing newer cars even since the B9 era, hence why they got rid of the Audi top man, however still they have issues.

Personally, I'd give them an ultimatum, fix it or hand it back & get a refund for what you've paid with no loss of pocket.

Thank you. I’m trying to not get stressed about but the annoying thing is it’s a beautiful car. I also traded in my old 71 plate Q5 which was still leased and in really good condition so I got an excellent deposit contribution. I thought if someone else had the same issue it would be oddly reassuring. I’m worried it could be sat there for weeks, maybe months if Audi drag their heels getting back to them.

I assume by this stage you have informed your lease company about the issues?

It’s leased through Audi PCP. I’m going to send an email tonight to the dealership as the A6 is taking costing me loads more to run as well it being a lesser value car. I worked out last night I have only had my car with me 14 days in the last month.

I’m almost certain it’s going to be a software update. There is even a review that said the first test car had a check engine engine light on

Still contact VWFS regardless, they are separate to the dealer network.
