When purchasing my car I was very sceptical about the mileage, when I went to view I was happy with the condition of the interior for such a low mileage, 10 years old vehicle. The only niggle was the Alcantara on the steering wheel, it was flat almost non existent, which had me doubting the history.
After a little research and thinking I’d need to get it re-trimmed, I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was just dirty…….
The difference is phenomenal, with about 20 minutes of gentle cleaning the results speak for themselves.

it's a well known thing with alcantara especially on seat bolsters and steeringwheels... grease transfer from the hands over the years always makes it look like it's completely worn, until you try and clean it off. I don't know how you did it, but i've seen a valeteer do it with a steamer and a microfibre cloth, no chemicals or soap used either, just plain old water from the tap.

I had the same worry when i went to purchase my car a year or so ago and mine was also low milage.
I did a bit of reading and found that this was popular.

Reset assured i was not disappointed. I now use this about once every couple or months or so and it keeps it nice and clean and soft feeling.
I just spray the foam on to the wheel and gently scrub it with a horse hair brush, then wipe of the excess with a soft micro fiber cloth.
You can get it of Amazon at present for £9.

On the strength of this I bought a can to clean my wheel and suffice to say, it does what it says on the tin! The alcantara came up a treat.

Looks really good, I was also amazed at how much you can bring the alcantara back to life. I've followed the instructions in this thread 'Steering wheel clean' and I was very pleased with the results.
