Anyone know / confirm if the shift paddles fitment is same between the Rs3 8Y and Golf mk8.5 ?

Golf R has far better sized paddles.
 
Look on aliexpress and check the paddle extensions for both models... chances are they have the same size. But on aliexpress you can compare and check what wheels they'll fit. (They are also way cheaper)

Thanks but that doesn’t tell me anything. All the cheap paddles are magnetic / stick on extensions. Not looking for aftermarket as they look gash. Need to know if the OEM ones fit including the wiring connections.

if the airbags are the same size you could simply swap the wheels... i get it it will be a lot cheaper to just swap the paddles inside the steeringwheel...only one way to make sure.. part number comparison..
 
Managed to get part numbers from ETKA and do a reverse search. Also an online video showing the install on a GTI.

Looks like only a viable swap for VW models but not AUDI.

Price online for these is £107 which is great value……..if they fitted

You could cut and mould(abs plastic so you could simply abs weld it)them to make one set if you can get them cheaper than that
 
Thanks. VW airbag is different shape and sure other connections likely different. Not wanting that much hassle either. Looks like the only paddles that fit with slight modification is the ones from the URUS. However, they are silly expensive and I really don’t like the fussy design. The VW ones look great hence why I thought they may be an option.
 
I would have a look on aliexpress anyway of i was you, they do have a few different styles of them and one does come realy close to the oem one used on the Golf GTI, they also come in different materials including carbon, annodised aluminium and plain ABS all of them can be had in different colours too. I know you don't really like them, but just have a look you might be surprised that you might find that style you are after even though it's a stick on/ magnetic or screw on version. The screw on actually has those screws with a point, that dig a little bit into the edges of the oem paddles, magnetic or stick on is better as they can be removed without anydamge to the original shift paddles. I'll leave that decision to you but i would have a look first before deciding they are just terrible.
