I'm considering a refurbing all my wheels so I won't be working under the car, but need the car to be safely suspended whilst the wheels are off.

Is there a place where you can put axle stands at the front of the car on the B9 platform? The obvious place is the jacking point but if the jack is there, the axle stand wont go in.

There are 2 angled bolts further in which look to be for the subframe, can the axle stands go on those?

On the rear, the suspension arms look substantial, would they be a safe place to put the axle stands under?

same thing on the B8 model. only real lift points i could find are the ones on the pinch weld. and as you said, if the jack goes there, you can put the axle stand in its place. Its a pain
the bolts you indicated at the end of the banana control arms do attach to the subframe, but its not a flat surface so a bit sketchy to put one there.

The only other thing I can think of, is use a scissor jack because it's slim and place it to the far side of the jacking point so you can squeeze the axle stand in. The scissor jack takes ages to wind up though.

I wish Audi used a central jacking point like some Japanese cars

yes I did that in the past, but the actual jacking point is still quite narrow, so it depends how wide the base of your axle stand is, and if they can both fit in there side by side.
on the rear of the b8 i put axle stands under the rear subframe tubes. from the picture you posted they are not visible on the b9, and the rear lower control arms are there instead.

I have this type of stand, I should be able to rotate them to get them to fit, providing the head is in an orientation where the pinch weld is supported properly

I found this:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SuDrfUJlJE (see at 1:38) but its not clear whether he's put the stand on the lower control arm at the rear or somewhere around it

funny enough i have the same axle stand, and yeah you have to rotate it so that two legs are siding with the scissor jack so that there is enough room, but then the top has to align with the pinch weld and then the holes have to line up for the locking pin. its a bit of a pain but do-able.

one idea I had was to raise the car with the hydraulic jack, put something like an axle stand under the head of the jack and let it rest on it, propping the car like that in case the jack fails.
that kind of solves the problem of no room for jack and axle in one place, the thing is, you then cant take the jack out to raise the other side.

about the rear, it looks like on the B9 there is a cross member between the rear lower control arms and thats where he put the axle stands, sounds good to me.
on the B8 there are 2 steel tubes of the subframe there and thats where i put the axle stands

Thanks!

I've seen some metal thing you can buy and it goes under the head of the jack to support it, but in my scenario where I will need all 4 wheels off, that wouldn't work unless I had 4 jacks

I have some drive on ramps so I'll reverse the car onto those and see where that cross member is at the rear. Unfortunately the front of the RS4 is too low to raise the front using the ramps, I need to make some run ups

that is indeed the ideal solution.
kinda what i had in mind when i said use something to prop up the jack in case it fails, but doesnt have the problem of not being able to remove the jack after.

post #2 has a point though, i might try to weld something similar together in the future
