Background
----------
I've been attempting to add indirect TPMS to my forever 8P, all works in software, but I've gotten sick of using VCDS to reset TPMS (my car's 2009 and doesn't have the newer DIS, so that's not an option)
The button is in and is working as expected using a multimeter (injecting +12v to the ABS module when the button is pressed)
This guide was used to enable TPMS over software

What I've tried so far
-------------
So far on the ABS Module I've tried pin 27 and 41 in this guide here and here (as far as I can tell they're the same guide)
Pin 27 Result: after pressing for 2+ seconds no light on dash or beep, in VCDS measuring blocks under group 16 to measure button press: nothing "Not Oper." wheras the ESP button shows "Activated"
Pin 41 Result: my multimeter is showing voltage on that line (2-4 volts) and therefore I dont want to shove 12 volts on it.

I've also followed this guide here for pin 35
Pin 35 Result:
after pressing for 2+ seconds no light on dash or beep, in VCDS measuring blocks under group 16 to measure button press: nothing "Not Oper." wheras the ESP button shows "Activated"

This guide helped confirm that the ABS module is looking for 12 volts and that the line should be at 0 volts when nothing's connected

Can anyone shine some light or provide any kind of pinout for the ABS controller? I've ran out of ideas!
I do have a newer instrument cluster with the new DIS but i've been told it's not easy to install due to the immobilizer

Oh, here's a pic of the menu used to measure TPMS button press:

Any help would be incredible!

Pin 35 for mk60 on facelift car, but I'm curious how an 09 car doesn't have a white dis cluster as it started in 08, what's the engine code & what cluster is fitted?

Thanks!

I’ve left it on pin 35 for now & will report back after a chunk of miles and it needs resetting, just strange how holding the button down shows no sign of TPMs resetting and VCDS 03-Measuring blocks section shows no button input, the guides above seem to suggest there’s a beep and icon change on the cluster?

You’re right & mine does have the white DIS, but I think it was just before an upgrade in DIS software as there’s a few features missing even after flipping a few bits in the cluster EPROM to enable certain features (no TPMS reset menu, no boost gauge, older oil temp/mpg/lap timer menus to name a few)

Here’s a little comparison (ignore the S3 sticker):

Urm you did enable tpms in instruments as that's what lights up & beeps after all, check in adaption channel 37 using security access,.

Did you check 09 for tpms options, if you have an 063 module, ignore if it's 279.

Thanks NHN,
I did re-check instrument coding & 09, all was correct.

It was pin 35 in the end, there doesn't seem to be any indication on TPMS had been reset until after the car's been restarted and a few miles are in, then the TPMS light will go.
I assume it's because 08-09 was early TPMS for the 8P, that it wasn't as fully fledged out/setup correctly like in the later year 8P's

Appreciate your help on this one

Normal operation is, you press the button, it beeps, light shows momentarily & goes out then system needs about 50-100 Kms to calibrate & it doesn't advise when it's complete, it's all in the background.

Yeah the issue with the cluster is if i remember correctly, that you cannot change the value on adaptions block 37.
I have the same issue. Only accepts 0 or 1. But it should accept 1001 for it to work.
Mine is Sept 2009, with white DIS also.

Like this one with same problem

My problem is that I cannot install the button. At that position, I have the start/stop button. And I don't like the idea of having a loose button maybe in the glovebox.
My only option is VCDS for now.

Just found out that there are 2 buttons for TPMS.
8P0927121B and 8P0927121C
8P0927121B is on the left 3 buttons, the first button from the left (where I have the Start/Stop button)
8P0927121C is on the right 3 buttons, the first after the hazard button. Next to the PDC and PLA buttons!

So your post gave me inspiration to complete this mod!

I'm glad to have given someone inspiration to do the mod too!

Mine's been working without fault since mid last month (my old rims dont seal well so TPMS has saved me a couple of times already!)
I just live with the cluster not being fully compatible with displaying/configuring TPMS, but the TPMS itself works perfectly.

8P0927121B facelift button ordered thank you, I can finally retire the A4 B6 button that's been taking it's place on my dash:

Yeah I installed mine last week! Do you press the button once or keep it pressed for 3-4 seconds to reset?
I want to remove some air from one tire to trigger the TPMS and then try to reset it to check.

Press and hold for 4 seconds or until the light goes out on the dash (although saying that if you dont wait a full hour before resetting the light might not go off, but should after a restart in my experience)

Button is in too!
