Hi all,

Not immune to Audi drama this is my 11th Audi but my first A5. Love the brand but I think I got caught out by the S-Tronic issue.

Always wanted an A5, Felt like the perfect trade off and ideally an Auto as my wifes knee is not the best.

Found the perfect candidate, Audi A5 3.0 TDI V6 S-Line Special Edition Quattro, Honestly where do they come up with these names :-D

I guess the issue is that I found out why it was cheap, Annoyed at myself really as I didnt spot the warning signs, Trader plates but not sold under the company brand and offering to pick me up in the car so I dont spot issues when warm.

ANYWAY I have it now, but I spent so long worrying about the timing chain rattle that i never done any research on the S-tronic issues.

Car has zero slippage throughout the gears it drives well but it is sloppy as hell doing D2 to D1. Googling this seems that its the dreaded mechatronics unit thats probably had it, But other than a lurch when the car stops at traffic lights its actually driving really well. Pulls well, shifts well but at traffic lights it sticks in D2 then lurches into D1. Not the end of the world but I am in a quandry as to what to do, Its an S-Line got all the bells and whistles 2010, got it for less than 2k, part of me wants to just put up with it and be done with it but another part is like nope get rid, Should I just keep it? Other than the D2 to D1, when in S1 it has a horrendous bang into gear but I am not much for Sport Mode so this doesnt concern me too much.

I am thinking of getting a proper Gearbox filter and oil change done as well as a software update to the latest TCU version, I mean its unlikely to fix it but a last minute hail mary never hurt anyone, Whats the consensus here. For what its worth I love the car and it has every feature and drives great otherwise
