Niggly issues thread

Keep pushing Audi UK. Go into the supplying dealer with the problems and ask to spoak to the warranty manager.

Hit him with them all and ask him if it’s likely it will be refunded and get the dealer to work for you.

You have to keep on at them.

9k is a big lump and I was facing £ 16k loss on a trade in so feel your pain.

Alternative is that the car will eventually slow down in depreciation and time it right to get out of it when you can break even

Into what car though is a different matter ! I really struggle to pinpoint a model/manufacturer which I like and suits my needs. They are all either hybrid or too much tech and bits to go wrong with big bills.

I even started looking at golfs !

Back to one of the best interiors and steering wheels Audi have ever made

It just works !

Feels like a step back compared to a fully loaded B10 but no annoying bongs going off and stuff malfunctioning

Happy to be back

That’s the same interior layout as my FY (B9.5 if you like) SQ5, and like you, I think it’s about as good as it gets. I ordered it new in mid 2024 to make sure I got the end of the old platform and not the start of the new one. By the time it arrived at the dealership for me to collect there were already some B10 models in the showroom and on inspection I was really put off by the appearance and execution, and that was without even thinking about whether it even worked or not.

That's one of the best steering wheels in any car, ever. No matter it's anything but a rare sight in Audis.

Same issue I had. 8 times it came on in 8 months.

If your fans on the rad pack start to go crazy it’s the flapper motor fault in the front bumper.

If they are okay then could be anything. Check your fuel cap is screwed on properly.

If all ok and car drives ok then it will probably go off in one to two weeks like mine did.

I started calling the light “Arnie” when it went out - I’ll be back !

Update the light went out after 2hrs. I had shut down 3 times in that time and on the fourth it went out. It just the ongoing software bug I guess. Will send the image off to Audi uk tomorrow so they got it on file as part of ongoing dispute with them. Still have to open the rear door once in a while just to get cruise control to work.

It's been a while since I've had any faults but today the rear assist had a meltdown and then after that cruise control, hold assist, Park and locking the car stopped working. Once I left it for a while it was ok again.

I had the other night and yesterday the yellow car crash symbol come up when driving and stayed on along with lane assist fault. Then the other night I had the heart with plus cone on and stayed there, got to garage to fill up and shut down started car and it cleared the fault. It started to have another little melt down again. Window would not close.

Audi finance emailed yesterday to say I hit 8 week and now can take it up with finance ombudsman as they not looked at it yet still.

Touch wood, since the last meltdown we have had no issues. You watch now it will explode!

It is booked in on the 16th to be looked at. A bit like trying to get into the doctors, you(the car) have recovered way before you can get in to see them such is the waiting list.

The last time my car was at the dealer, they couldnt do anything as the AA had cleared the fault codes.

We have photographed every fault and each time something happens I email the service manager at the dealer. 99% of the time the faults clear if you turn the car off for a few hours of cycle the ignition.

I do the same every an issue occurs. Audi finance is still sitting on it.

Also do not was the car with the key in your pocket.

My jetwash locks/unlocks the car and opens the tailgate. VERY frustrating as the boot gets soaked.

I don't have that issue. 99% of the time the boot only opens a fraction. It hasn't opened fully for about a year.

Have the same issue, It is very frustrating, It either the boot that opens or the alarm keeps getting triggered.

Not a niggle but something that fixed itself. After an update Android Auto now shows on the driver's dash display again after not showing for months. The car also warned me that I was distracted, which is new.

Automatic update or trip to the dealer ?

Car has been back in at the dealer again today.

Apparently it has had another update, so I assume there is more patches after the KD2. I doubt this though as the last update took 2 days. I shall see what they have to say tomorrow when I collect it.

Thought you were going for a rejection. From what I read here you should not let them update it if I recall as it proves it’s faulty.

Unless of course you are now wishing to keep it

I still have time to reject.

This visit was to build up more evidence. But since the KD2 update, after a few faults popping up again we’ve had no issues.

If it anything happens again the dealer have said they will raise a technical case with Audi AG as there is nothing more that can be done. Plus the car doesn’t log 80% of the faults that occur.

I do think this will be my last Audi though. Looking at the direction they have taken with the interior on the new Q3 I won’t be getting another.

That what I been told when I visited my dealer last that there is nothing can be done as of yet. I’m still waiting for finance to get on my case I raised, they are just overwhelmed with complaints at the moment.

I am just so glad I went back to the B9.5. It’s been a delight to own since I got it.

Really got lucky with Audi buying it back from me. Keeping this now until the wheels fall off it

Had mine nearly a year and it's been in and out of the dealers a few times. Misaligned drivers door, Passenger seat controls upside down, rattling behind the dash board. Car covered in lacquer overspray. "Critical" driver system faults "Do not Drive" Which clear themselves after engine being switched off, Rattling/Knocking panoramic roof still not fixed, apparently waiting for the dealers mechanics to be trained 12 months down the line. Audi just don't want to pay out for a new roof as its cracked on the rear passenger quarter. And now the latest one is the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Dealers advice as they are booked until May phone Audi Assist. The Emissions light is coming on far too often and not always clearing.
It's either a badly designed car or a Friday afternoon rush job.
My Clio is more reliable than this and she's on 200K+ miles.

Oh and Drivers massage function reports "Service not available" when trying to select it through the screen. Passenger side can be selected, seats can be adjusted and massage function can be started through seat side button!!!

My mmi is now randomly rebooting itself.. also keep getting the white warnings pop up as well. Traffic signs and the proactive occupants detection.

Just thinking about getting rid off soon as I got enough funds to cover the loss and deposit.

Audi finance has finally contacted as they just got round to the case file, they are now looking into it, Canterbury Audi are refusing to talk the finance company at the moment. So they are now off to Audi Uk to get all the details so far. Hopefully it will be a buy back.
