So I go out to clear ice off the windscreen this morning and EML lit up again
Now I have totally had it with this car as much as I like it. It has to go.
Spoke with Audi UK and they have initiated a buy back. However they tell me that this is not with Audi UK and with the dealer
So I am just waiting on some convoluted deal that they will present to me to get me out the car. No idea if it’s a straight forward buy back or partial refund or involves another vehicle. Either way I assume it will cost me money
Time will tell but I am done ! Worst experience of a purchase ever made.

Remember that The Motor Ombudsman rate is 42p per mile for usage, nothing more, nothing less.
The dealer will probably offer you a sub rate buy back deal and threaten you with 'going to the TMO if you are not satisfied', knowing that the wait time is currently two years plus.
However as you have the support of Audi UK, it may be more favourable, and I hope it is I wouldn't wish anyone but Trump and Netanyahu to go through what I did with Mazda with a rejection.
I kind of painted myself in the corner with the A3. Unless I go a class up in size, I have no clue where to look next. At least I haven't got issues worth bringing up with my current car so looks like I'll happily keep it for a while, after which the market will most likely be very different.
But if I was to get a new car class above right now I'd go straight for the BMW 3-series. Soon outgoing model so the issues should be well sorted out and the interior's still got pretty solid quality and traditional layout. Which certainly won't be the case with the upcoming one. However, it might feel a little cramped compared to A5.
I was tempted with an 340D...but the screen layout means that I have to stretch to use it and move out of the seat, which sondering most functions are built into it now, it would have been an absolute PITA. The X340D's are still so expensive and feel very dated inside. The one saving grace of the new Audi Screentastic design is that its curved so easily accesed from a normal sitting position. I was going to go with an A5, but the Q5 is pretty much the same size and more comfortable to get in and out.
The Merc C class is really nice, but if you're tall, you may have the same problem as I do. The transmission tunnel curves into the footwell a LOT, so for a tall person to rest their foot/leg you have to turn it in diagonally towards the brake pedal - i noticed how sore I was after half an hour and realised thats why I was uncomfortable, couldn't do that for hours.
There just aren't any cars that excite me anymore..I wish I could go back to my A3 Saloon 8V three years ago, worse mistake I ever made selling that.
