Not that I am just yet, but if I was going EV , this would be on my to get list.
Nope not a big SUV bus or similar, not a tesla either and not even a VAG unit.

Nope just a plain old Renault 5
I've had a couple many moons ago , a bronze coloured R5 Ts , a black R5 Gordini and then a R5 Turbo, all great little cars or go karts would be a better description..lol
Saw the new R5 advert and though, I like that and very similar style to the original .
Looks rather nice, very up my street, just the right amount of angles and curves. :icon thumright:

Definitely one of the better looking EV’s for sure. Trouble is EV’s are just so lacking any soul. We had a aQ4 e-tron on loan a while ago . Awful thing. 0 to 30 quick as…….. after that just a slug.

EV’s not for me for a number of reasons, Main one being the need to tow a very big twin axle caravan.
But when we retire something like this may be an option for the wife’s car.
Not many EV‘s that I like the appearance of but this has more “normal” good looks imho.

For a while I was very interested in EV's, but they still have disadvantages that are a deal breaker for me. Unlike many I don't find them soulless, not many ICE cars have any more soul, they are just less comfortable and refined than basic EV's. But most of them are way too big for my needs, I don't want to drive around with an extra tonne of material just to move myself. Smaller ones have ridiculously small range so any longer trip would be just chasing chargers. And how much all the manufacturers praise how fast the new EV's charge, it seems to be too much theoretical and depending on other matters than the car itself. Those have to improve a lot until I can realistically buy one. Looking forward to that. One more thing, I'm annoyed how many brands don't let the EV's be just EV's, they come up with whatever weird ideas to make the cars feel more special or ICE-like. How about an EV that stands just on its own strengths? For example, if the powertrains is silent by default, why pay for Hans Zimmer to have it make embarrasing noise when pressing the acceelerator?

It is one of the few small new cars whether it be EV or ICE powered that does resemble its roots , the old R5 style can still clearly be seen in this new version, with some subtle improvements like the slightly wider wheel arches , not massive but enough, which I like.
Interior is still as bonkers as it used to be aswell and that's fine by me, the R5 was always a bit of a marmite car, I hate marmite but love the R5, not sure eon the £29k price tag though. :whistle2:

I’ve never been a fan of EV’s and certainly do not want to own one, however my wife got a new Renault 5 3 weeks ago and I have to say it’s a really good car to drive , it’s perhaps the most un EV ,EV on the road at the minute
I still don’t want one, but suprised by the way it drives and it’s a good looking car too!
Costs about €4 to charge on the night rate which is enough for at least 350kms.
Which means I’ve more money to put petrol in the S3 !!
