I have been interested in buying an S1 competition for a while and today went to view one but looking at the car it needed a bit of work

The carbon mirror caps are in need of changing does anyone know how much an original pair are from Audi .
The rear quarter decals need replacing both sides again does anyone have an idea on price for the originals from Audi .
Its needs to front tyres as they didn't look great . Churchill tyres obviously not what you want on a performance car
does anyone know the profile of the tyres on a S1 comp .

The car had loads of history and receipts for servicing etc but
No history of a spark plug or haldex service which is a bit worrying for an 8 year old car .
It had a big bill for the water pump etc being replaced .
other than that it needs a massive detail inside and out and the engine bay .

And the plus point for me it is a one lady owner car from new .
 
Is it on Autotrader? Ca you provide a link? I would be wanting a decent warranty on an 8 year old S1.

Carbon mirror caps were around 500 quid new from Audi but I think they've sold off all of the stock as a few German ebayers had loads for sale. There's still a few on there now for £2-300, bit more than the £140 they were available for.

The rear stickers are in the region of £330 each side!!

TBH it doesn't sound like it's been looked after very well at all - if that one lady owner didn't give a toss, you're better off walking away. There's a few out there and plenty more non Competition S1s

I thought the mirror caps would of been expensive to be honest .

The car had stacks of service history with some big bills a mix of main dealer and independent .
The decals were knackered and starting to peel so definitely need sorting but I didn't realise they were that much :cry:

I have put an offer in £1500 less than what the person wants to take into account the work it needs
so I will just wait and see now .

Has it been serviced every year? A lot of people think the 2 year/20k servicing applies to S models...it's one year 10k. I would be concerned the Haldex hasn't been done (and done properly with the gauze being cleaned) - it's likely to need a new pump

Might be worth seeing if a wrapping place can replicate the rear quarter decals? I plan on doing when mine ultimately need replacing.

No sure if it had a service record for every year has there was way to much paper work and receipts to go through .

The Haldex seemed to be working well on the test drive .

Yes surely there is a more cost effective option out there for the decals .

Just waiting on a reply to my offer now
