Doesn’t seem to matter what settings I select, I get bombarded with adverts constantly when on ASN on the iPad.
So much so it’s putting me off using the website.
Any ideas?
 
We've tried to fend off the adverts for as long as we can. but to ensure the future of the forum and to help cover the costs of enormous servers we've had to deploy them. Appreciate they may be annoying to those of us who have been around for a while, but just think every time you see them. You are contributing to ASN :)

That’s fair enough. It’s probably worse on the iPad as it seems like every time I’m about to click on something an advert appears and moves the screen resulting in me pressing the wrong thing
 
Understand the need for adverts but sometimes they cause issues

Just an example when reporting a post. In the past the advert has covered the text box as well as the submit button.

I know I can close the ad but sometimes it comes back.

this is a good flag thank you we'll take a look.

Also to add to change in ads we may see - this week we have completed a monumental upgrade to the sites hosting. Thanks to the eagle eyed efforts of a few people ;) this was completed with very minimal downtime and we've seen a leap in site speed since. We have a plan for further improvements for the site through this year and this was the first and biggest step. Hopefully you are experiencing it too.

So rest assured advertising money is being reinvested into the site too.

Unfortunately with people not logging in as often (like yourself) in order to pay for the enormous servers and storage this place takes up we have no choice but to utilise ads. Consider that by seeing them, you are contributing to the forum with more than just posts, but keeping it here too :)
 
There're better ways to raise money than ads. They've not even been added nicely.

Server costs shouldn't be enormous. There's not even much activity. I suspect everyone has been scared off. It's too easy to move forums, don't let that be.
