Greeting Folks,

Do any of us have any experience with retro fitting the Bavarian Automotive Apple CarPlay unit for a 2012 A5 TDi with 3g?
I ordered a unit from BA and have had some challenges having it fitted, BA are not being particularly helpful when I seek support, so hoping the combined wisdom of us Audi-Sport.net folks can provide some advice.

Currently I have had the unit fitted, however it is not showing when I select AUX in my Media Source menu, I have read somewhere there may a need for some VCDS coding, is this possibly the issue?

As always, any advice/pointers/help anyone might offer will be welcomed.

Connect the AMI cable to the AMI port, this will allow AUX to be selectable from your Media Source Menu. You don't need to connect anything to the AMI cable as the big wiring loom that connects between the MMI and the BA Box has sound connections.

To get sound from the BA box you will need to select AUX before switching to the box, otherwise all you will get is video output. No Coding needed, but this is assuming your vehicle has an AMI port.

Thank You for the reply DJAlix, I believe I have the Ami port in the glovebox, (I use this to connect my Invery Bluetooth Adapter to stream music).
When I select AUX via the MMi I get no option to switch to the box?

Connect your AUX AMI cable to the AMI port and select AUX as the source. This will give you sound from the box. Connecting anything else to the port won't allow this.
