Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me out. I have a 2016 A3 S Line that has parking sensors on the rear bumper. However I cant find anything in the MMI settings about it and when I put the car in reverse I get no beeps or display.

Ive seen somewhere that its possible to get this activated using the cars code but have no idea where to start. I have checked the VCDS map and messaged a couple of people but posting here also in case someone can point me the right direction. Im in Bristol but happy to travel further if someone can do it.

Also, just from a curiosity point of view, why would Audi install the physical sensors but not activate the software to use them?

Thanks in advance

D

Are you sure your car has its original rear bumper?

I’m sorry that I can’t help with the how to but I hope I can shed some light on the what should? I had a 2014 PFL S3 saloon that had front and rear parking sensors, when I put the car in reverse I got the bleeps and the radar display on the MMI. I now have 2019 S3 Sportback that only has rear sensors, I only get the bleeps and no display. I read up on this and came to the conclusion that the above is correct and you only get the display if you have front and rear sensors. In both cases there should be options within the MMI to change bleep volume, frequency etc.
I’ve since had a reverse camera retrofitted which is brilliant, as you already have the hardware in your rear bumper maybe you’re better off approaching a Vag retrofitter to see if they can resolve your issue?

Hey, I had the same with my 2017 A3, and it's just a quick VCDS flag that needs to be enabled. I had an acquaintance retrofit front parking sensors and he coded the both front/rear sensors on the display without any issues.
