Hi Guys,

My current car is a 2013 A6 C7 with the bitdi engine, CGQB (313). It has a few bits done and running 400bhp on a DMS Automotive map. All was done before i bought it.

I have had a few errors throw up regarding regen of the dpf but have noticed the oil cooler is leaking coolant and ive been going through everything to replace things to repair it.

Through my research i then started reading into deleting the EGR, the pros and cons of doing so, i see darkside and sustdi do delete kits and it seems to be straight forward to change the software to complete the delete using rosstech (which i dont have currently). Could anyone advise if i have this part correct?

From this i have since read, if you delete the EGR then the car cannot carry out a regen of the DPF? So i then started to look at either gutting out the DPF (which im not sure about as its not reversable) or getting a delete pipe. The bit im not sure on and struggling to find info on, can the DPF software side be done like the EGR, rosstech and changing a few fields or is there more to it than that as many mention it being mapped out? Is there anything else you need to do? I believe the DPF uses a pressure sensor which still needs to be present and connected, this is something that is deleted by software?

And finally, there seems to be many benefits to doing this, ie fuel economy, better running etc and also once i clean up all the carbon from the intake parts ill be removing, the EGR delete will keep things much cleaner there after. Are there downsides, i appreciate legality dependant on where you are from in the world and use for off road etc only but are there other considerations and problems that need consderation?

Thanks,
Justin
