Audi Tradition is gearing up for an exciting year filled with numerous events and milestone celebrations. This year marks 60 years since the Audi brand name was reintroduced. Back in 1965, Auto Union GmbH, as it was known at the time, transitioned from its two-stroke engine era and introduced a new model powered by a four-cylinder, four-stroke engine—named Audi. This first post-World War II Audi, along with other historic vehicles from the AUDI AG collection, will be on display during International Museum Day on May 18 at Ingolstadt. Additionally, the Audi museum mobile will celebrate its own milestone on Museum Day: its 25th anniversary.
The year’s event schedule kicks off with the Bremen Classic Motorshow (January 31–February 2), where Audi Tradition will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Audi A2’s launch by showcasing a polished aluminum version of the model. Visitors can also explore the Volkswagen Group’s joint stand in Hall 5, where Audi Tradition will provide information about spare parts. That same weekend, two-time German rally champion Harald Demuth will take the wheel of a 1984 Audi Sport quattro Rallye at the FAT ICE RACE in Zell am See, Austria (February 1). Meanwhile, Jutta Kleinschmidt, the first and only woman to win the Dakar Rally in 2001, will drive the Audi RS Q e-tron—winner of the 2024 Dakar Rally—on the icy course.
The action continues on February 21–22 in St. Moritz at The I.C.E. concours d’elegance, where Tom Kristensen will showcase the Audi quattro Group S on the frozen Lake St. Moritz. Developed in 1985, this unique rally car featured a tubular space frame, plastic bodywork, and a mid-mounted four-valve turbocharged engine. Though designed for the Group S rally category, it was never used competitively.
In July, motorsport enthusiasts can catch Audi Tradition at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 10–13), celebrating the 25th anniversary of Audi’s first Le Mans victory. Le Mans legends Tom Kristensen and Rinaldo “Dindo” Capello will join the festivities, and historic race cars like the Auto Union Type C and Le Mans-winning vehicles will take on the Goodwood Hillclimb. Shortly after, Audi Tradition will participate in the Eifel Rallye Festival (July 24–26) in Daun. Other classic car events include the Heidelberg Historic (July 4–5), Donau Classic (July 18–19), and Sachsen Classic (August 14–16), where vehicles from Audi’s historical collection will also make appearances.
As part of its annual tradition, the Audi museum mobile will take part in International Museum Day (May 18) and the Night of the Museums (September 13). Later in the year, model car enthusiasts can look forward to markets at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm (November 9) and Ingolstadt (November 30).
