Firstly I am aware there are vast amounts of threads and information on this but most of them are well dated over 10 years old. I am looking for companies or individuals who can get this fixed and coded for me.
I have a 2004 (54) A6 Allroad 2.5 TDI BAU which is suffering from no start. Starts on sniff and will cut out. Only code I can pull is P0252. Worth noting the car was basically on 0 fuel when I got to it, needle wouldnt even move. It has fuel in it now, is pumping through to the clear pipe out of the filter. It is an immaculate FSH example on 90k miles and I want to save it.... within reason of course.
Here is where I currently am:
Confident with Diesel Bob for the actually reconditioning of the pump which comes with a new ECU.
I am struggling to find any indies, vag specialists etc who have experience with 1) coding them in, whether timing etc and 2) can get the IMMO code from the cars dash AND put it into the new ECU.
The pump runs off a separate belt to the timing, so my question is if I decided to pull and refit the pump myself, then have someone do the coding, do I need to consider doing timing belt? is there something that needs locking on the fuel pump side of the engine? Or can I pull it off and put a new one on with no issues?
Car is currently in Avonmouth, Bristol, I am based in Cheltenham, I can get the car near enough anywhere if the right person can get this done. If someone is local to Avonmouth then excellent just makes the process easier but I am not looking to limit this geographically (again, within reason).
I have spoken do dozens of firms but no real prevails on confidence, so has anyone had one of these fixed recently (within last few years), or can anyone on here help having done them before?
