Hi! I have a 2018 Audi A7 Sportback, MildHybrid TDI50, Quattro. The rear spoiler was intermittent(with rear spoiler fault ON and OFF on the dash) for about two months and then finally gave up two weeks ago. I had a scan done at a reputable garage and they came up with the above error code line. I have checked the fuses in the luggage compartment and they all seem fine. Having said that, the bay(red B) that is supposed to have the fuse for the spoiler in position 12, is completely empty with no fuse in the 12 spaces! Has anyone come across this issue? I have the part number and price from Audi for the new control module but I have not been able to locate the old one. Does anyone know where it is located in the car? Is the solution having a new module installed? Sorry, too many questions but I am completely stuck. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi Salif

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

Unfortunately my A7 is having the same problem as yours as of today. B134101 Adjustment For Rear Spoiler.

I might be able to answer some of your questions if it helps you solve this issue.

Fuse location: I'm not sure if your manual is the same as mine as I have the petrol and not diesel as well as packs etc... but the fuse location for the rear spoiler is in the boot, fuse carrier 1, position 7.

Manual: I have managed to find a workshop manual online with instructions on how to remove the control module. It's under the boot lining. I'm sure if you Google "cardiagn Audi A7 4ka" you'll be able to find something . You'll find it in the Body Exterior section.

Out of curiosity, how much was the module?

Hope the above helps you, and in turn helps me also.

Hi Wilbur,
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my posting. Interestingly/luckily enough mine has started working once more. I posted on the day I checked the fuses. Because I could not find the bay and fuses as described on the diagrams I found online, I took out ALL the fuses I found in the boot area, one at a time and fitted them back again one at a time. Got back in the car, drove it around for about an hour and then returned home. The next morning, I got in the car, started the engine and the usual error spoiler fault was not present. I then used the switch to pop up the spoiler and then applied a generous amount of WD40 on the brackets that bring up and pull down the spoiler - just in case they had been stuck due to friction. With my limited knowledge, I am suspecting that taking out the fuses and fitting them back in might have re-set the link to the module. What do you think?

I tried attaching a picture of the fusebox without success.

Audi will charge £146.50 plus VAT for the module. In case you eventually need it, the part number they gave me is M A4K8 959 252. They said they would charge £150 to re-scan(would not use the report I had on me) and then £249 an hour to replace it. One thing to be aware of, they have the policy of electrical items supplied correctly cannot be returned. Just in case you purchase and it turns out that you do not need it.

Sorry I am not being of much help.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Salif

That's great news for you! I'm glad you got it working. Unfortunately for me, the problem still persists.

The only thing I (personal opinion) would recommend following from what you have done, is to also maybe spray some sort of Teflon/ PTFE spray, or put some 3 in 1 oil on the hinges. WD40 is great for fighting rust or loosening seized parts, but the lubricant properties fade away quite quickly, so it's not great at lubricating metal on metal surfaces over long periods of time.

I tried removing and reinstalling all the fuses in the boot of the car to no avail; had nothing to lose I suppose

Luckily I was able to lift the trim piece on the boot, where the module sits underneath and I was able to disconnect it, remove it and go over it with contact cleaner. However, this did not fix the issue, but at least I know that getting to the module takes 10 minutes, tops. I have ordered one from eBay for £80 and will be replacing once I get it.

I will keep you updated in case the issue comes back or in case this doesn't work.

I haven't even contacted Audi in this case, as I'd probably be looking at spending a pretty penny before they even touch it.

Best Regards
