Hi. I recently had the recall software update done on my 2017 s3 and now the car has issues. They installed version 34L4.

Is there a way to find out which version was previously installed on my car?
I have VCDS if that’s any help.

Thanks
Dan

If you have problems after the update bring it back to thendealer and state whatever is wrong with it. Rolling the software back, will void your warranty. And of the car is out of warranty already it will void any claim that originated from the DSG because you rolled the software back.

The only real solution is to have audi sortout the problems that the new software has highlighted.

you can check previous version from old "stored" autoscans.

34L4 is not afirmware version, its what VW group call a campaign / software version management code, which is used to trigger an update via the official service tool.

I see. I don’t think I even have the laptop that I used to use for VCDS any more so no chance of an auto scan.

I brought the car back to Audi and told them my issues and they said it can’t be rolled back. They even tried to blame the gearbox saying a solenoid might be getting stuck .

Is there a way to find out what software the car shipped with and roll it back that way?

Shipped with, no. Might be possible to work it out via seeing the current part number and software version tho.

So just to close this thread off, I went back to Audi for help. They guys had a look at the car for an hour then came out to me and actually suggested that maybe an actuator is sticking and that maybe I should have a gearbox service. Crazy.

I then persisted and finally got them to give the previous software version and the current software version.

I then brought my car to a man who had the gear to put the old software back in and voila…

Back the way it was. Absolutely perfect, nice DSG farts again and more importantly no holding gears or getting stuck in gear.

Stuck actuator my ****.

Lesson learned. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

Nice to hear you got it sorted out!

Do you know what sofware version you have in the car now?

Old Software: OGC300011M, OGC927711G, 0704, H06=>

New software: OGC300012A, OGC927711G, 1630, H06

(So obviously the old software has now been put back on)
