Need a little advice and guidance, A colleague with A4 99 with 2.5 Diesel engine swapped engine from A6 2001
The original engine was AKN and donor is AKE.
Initially: Original Dash, original ECU (immo off), Donor engine and donor Fuel pump started the vehicle and it ran normal
after a couple days it cranks but no start.
Currently - Original Dash - Donor ECU (from completely different A6 2.5tdi) with immo off, donor engine and donor fuel pump - still crank but no start.
The 4 pin connector on the fuel pump does not get 12v, the fuel gauge wires get just below 5v power.
connecting fuel pump direct to a 12v power source can hear the pump running.
As far as I can see the relay for fuel pump is under steering labelled 372 - but this is is what turns on the glow plugs? surely glow plugs and fuel pump won't be ran by same relay? as glow plugs come on for a short period at ignition but fuel pump runs continuously?
