Hi everyone
My A6 (2011 C7) has all of a sudden stopped starting! Won’t even go into ignition when you press the start button.

Central locking and MMI, radio, lights etc all still work. I tested the battery and that reads 12.9v. I also tried attaching jump leads to another car and that didn’t help.

Had it scanned by someone with VCDS and the only code shown on car was to do with electrical fault in circuit (copied below).

As the wheels are locked, getting it towed garage to garage is hard and expensive!

Does anyone know of anyone who will be able to sort this issue. Presumably an auto electrician or VAG specialist?

I’m in Birningham.

Any help appreciated as the car is also half blocking my driveway!

Many Thanks
Z

Given the symptoms you describe, the problem appears to be a starter circuit or electrical fault, possibly related to a relay, fuse, or communication issue with the immobilizer.

Hi Z, sounds like an ignition switch or starter motor issue. Try a VAG specialist like Midland VW or Unit 20 in Birmingham. Check fuses/relays too. Hope you get it sorted!

Try contacting a mobile VAG auto electrician when I had a similar BCM2/databus issue on my A6, a local specialist came out with VCDS and sorted it without needing a tow.
