B7 1.8t Quattro. Remapped running 220hp, 265lb/ft torque.

Clutch is slipping WOT from 2krpm, does this in 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th gear.

It's still driveable atm but I need to look into a new clutch asap.

I'm not sure whether OEM clutch is going to be sufficient or whether I should look for an uprated clutch to prepare me for the inevitable power upgrades in the future.

The issue I'm finding is that most garages will only fit parts they supply, but they can't find uprated clutches for the higher torque from their supplier.

I'm not really sure what to do.

Is there somewhere nearish to North Wales that will supply and fit a stronger clutch? Is there any recommendation for a new clutch / DMF?

Oem clutch holds up to 240 bhp but if you buy a cheap clutch it won't... either Sachs or LUK. The more important part is the state of the DMF... if it's already out of balance it will destroy your clutch in no time when upping the power. So best practice would be to replace the DMF and clutch before the remap.

You can always tell a worn out DMF; put it in first; full lock and go round and round in a car park or some space - it'll rattle like a hungry, angry baby!

Not always.... I got a surprise on my old mk4 golf gt tdi, it just went but it happened with loads of slippage while I was miles away from home. And all of a sudden... Boom, there went the clutchplate...

That was your clutchplate; I'm talking about the DMF
And on opening the box up the clutchplate went boom because the DMF was hitting it.... it was completely out of balance. There was enough material left on the clutch but with the dmf chipping parts off it at a certain point it just went. I was a good 100 miles away from home stranded at 5:30 am on the motorway. Anyway I went SMF flywheel after that with a beefier clutch setup.
