Hi all,

A couple of days ago my heated seats and interior lights have stopped working. I’ve checked all the fuses and they are all fine.

Could it be a BCM module issue?

Did you change anything related to the bcm?

No, not changed anything.

Then something's gone wrong as it wouldn't cp unless it has no bus connection to check vin or it's a module replaced & not had cp done yet.

So do you think that will be the cause of the seat heating and interior lighting issue then?

Yes, but the real question here is what's triggered the component protection in the BCM. Component Protection is VW groups control module anti-theft protection. Its normally triggered when a device is taken from a car and installed in to another.

Oh right, that’s very odd then. I put a new battery in it nearly a year ago as I was having issues with my MMI shutting down and resetting randomly but that didn’t fix the issue as was the last thing I’ve done to it. Been fine all year. Have no idea what could have caused it, other than it being caused by a fault. I don’t really know how the canbus/BCM works so I’m at a loss.

Is there anything I can do with my VCDS to figure it out or do I just need to look at getting the BCM replaced?

Or thinking about it…. would having the MMI unit removed cause the CP? I currently have the unit removed as I took out the glovebox to get better access to the fuses.
