Drivers Mirror Issue

Audi A6 2.0 tdi Ultra avant 2014

When they unfold during start up, every 3rd or 4th time (varies) the drivers mirror unfolds but the glass position is all off and I have to either use the mirror knob to re fold and unfold again or mess about adjusting it.

Any ideas much appreciated!

mine does something simular, it either doesn't fold out/ goes some % of the way or is fine. i'm guessing a gear is worn in the mechanism or a tooth is missing

Yer it now does it daily and I’ve realised it’s simply not folding all the way out. I’m gona pipe the cover and see if I can grease the gears up, I feel like it just u folds a lot slower than the otherside

I sqiuirted some wd40 in the fold area and it seems better since then, took a few weeks to get going fully and had a stripe down my door where excess ran out lol
