Hi everyone,

I’ve got an Audi 2l tfsi EA888 gen 1 engine and the notorious timing chain tensioner went and it skipped timing and bent all the intake valves. I’ve now replaced all the valves, timing chain and tensioner and iall the things that go along with that and t’s back together.

When I start it, it runs great for 30 seconds but once cold start is over the car just shuts off with no nasty noises. I then start it again and it runs like absolute crap and will barely idle but no funny internal knocking noises. I had a code for cam crank correlation but I know the timing is good because I just replaced the timing chain and tensioner.

I am now going to replace the crank and cam position sensors as I understand this could be the cause of my running issue.

What does everyone think? Thanks in advance.

what model audi do you own please?
You will get a better reply from the appropriate model variant forum.
Let me know and I will move this thread to the best forum.

Have you run vcds to check realtime parameters ?
Dash board Lights on?

So it's an audi A3 8p 2l tfsi face lift. It shares the same EA888 gen 1 powertrain to the likes of a MK6 VW Golf GTI and Audi Q5 plus many more.

The lights and codes are just cam and crank correlation and cylinder 2 misfire which cause the engine light im assuming.

I'm a bit stuck for ideas and really need the car back on the road.
