Hello, my name is Matt- I'm new to this site and would like to see if anyone else has experienced Brake Failure while driving. I'll began with I have a 2013 Audi A7 Prestige. I was running errands this morning and out of nowhere the brakes completely failed at highway speeds and continued to for miles. I was able to downshift and stand on the brakes (which were at about 5% of normal) to get it stopped. I checked all brake fluid and inspected all the vacuum lines that I could. It doesn't leak. I just put new tires on and had the brake system inspected. Pads and Rotors were at 85%-90%. I was in the car for about 20 min braking and turning the entire time. Then out of nowhere, it seems like the braking system lost all power. I did end up using the electric brake when I got down to about 10mph (this locked up the brakes and stopped me). It was raining but not anything unusual. Could something have gotten wet and caused something to short out? No lights on the dash. I will get a random Spoiler error when I start the car. This only happens about 10% of the time.
Im grateful I didn't have my kids in the car. I was on my way to get them. I ended up turning around and driving 10mph on the shoulder to home. When I got close to home they started working normally for about 2 seconds then the pedal went hard again.
I'm most like going to get it towed unless someone on here can identify a simple fix. The car is mint and had 100% of all service completed by a dealer. Ill documented.
Lastly could it be battery voltage bogging the system down and creating failure?
Sorry my mind is spinning as I could have been in a serious accident.
