"Now powered by a 3.0 TFSI V6 that produces 367PS and a maximum 550Nm of torque, the engine is supplemented by 48-volt system that can provide an additional drive torque of up to 230Nm and up to 24PS of power."

Only downside I can see is no more diesel SQ5, its now petrol only - looks like all diesels are going to be on the way out - thanks Greta:rage:

Still could be on my list to look at when my change time comes in approx 2 1/2 years (or sooner lol)
One that won't be on my list is the new X3 , what a balls up they've made of that!

Then why change?

Our TT roadster owned for 14-years, RS3 for 13-years, SQ5 for 8-years. If it ain't busted and does everything you want then why on earth change for something youre already finding issues with?

I didn't get an SQ5 as it was diesel. It's the devil's fuel. Never owned one, never going to. For now I just have the 265bhp model.

The new one is now tempting. I'd want a Sportback which will come later so plenty of time to consider the reviews etc after it comes out next Spring/Summer

I agree with BH that this looks way better than the new X3 inside and out.
Having had an X3 (G01) M40i and now an M40d (both fantastic cars), if I was changing now (which I’m not) I’d be seriously looking at this SQ5 and almost certainly not the new ugly imho X3 M50.
When I traded my S3 for the M40i, I’d also looked at, and drove, the SQ5 at the end of 2019 and felt that is was let down by its fake exhaust noise and felt a bit less exciting than the X3 at that time. It was also only diesel and I was looking for petrol. But I suspect this one addresses that, it certainly looks the part, whilst BMW have shot themselves in the foot.

@45bvtc - Why not?

No issues I just like to change my car every 3-4 years

May get me back in an Audi after all ...

@Scotty - Agreed, diesel is the devils fuel BUT I need one to tow a caravan so what am I supposed to do (altho I am at the mo caravan'less )

I've had my X5 for 18 months now & it still surprises me even now
For a big mutha she can 'move' - Can't argue with over 50mpg on the last run either

1971 Lotus Elan Sprint, a "45bvtc" no less.
Ours for 37-years and 200K miles plus
Paid £1000 in 1977 and sold £50k plus in 2011, hello RS3 (go Google DKENG RS3)
Sprint Barmouth 2005

We tend to keep cars, tis LOVE...

And I know where 'OUR' Elan is and am oh so tempted to buy back....

Tis why I find the SQ5 TDi and RS3/TT roadster both petrol 'excite!' The characteristics of each just so much fun/different...

Working for Austin Rover Group back in the 90's I was gettin a different/new MG Montego Turbo or 2.7 Vitesse every week - just to put 'miles on' - and that destroyed my 'new car' excite....

I see Audi have just released the prices of the '25 SQ5's todays (Got my email :tearsofjoy: )

Starting price ? - £75,150 !!! Wtf I mean WTF?
For that money I could replace my X5 with the facelift model with all the extra's that I have fitted to mine & have change

Guess I'll be looking elsewhere when it comes time to change the X5

Yeah it’s the SQ5, I think Col was so in shock at the price (like I was) he missed the ‘S’

I priced the X3 M50d like for like with my M40d and it’s not much less than that.

When I did the deal on mine a year ago (delivery was Mar 24) it was £65k but I got around £9k discount.

Car prices gone crazy!

Correct Brian - still recovering from these prices if I'm being honest ... :tearsofjoy::sadlike::help:

Must admit those Dacia's are now looking inviting :thumbs up::tearsofjoy:

My pending SQ5 order on the outgoing platform is a Black edition with minimal extras. I‘m paying £58K but the price as configured on the Audi website was around £67K. If I had gone for a Sportback, that would have added another £2K, and Vorsprung trim level would have taken it to around £75K. In that context, the new prices aren’t quite as bad as they might seem.

@jdp1962 - The prices won’t be Jeff if the discounting levels resume as on previous platforms but is suspect they won’t

Still rather have a facelift X5 for that money if I’m being honest

But a base 3.0D X5 with no extras is only £4300 less than an SQ5 with all the bells and whistles and the M60i starts at £94.5K so hardly a direct comparison

Just checked drive the deal

Surprisingly not only are all the ‘25 models incl. SQ5 on their website but showing a discount on a ‘base’ SQ5 (no options) of £9228.49 on a list of £74,400 (as per
DTD)
(No man maths percentages from me )

Does make you wonder about manufacturers RRP’s mind …

It’s about 12%.

I'm surprised by the discounts available already. Sales of Audis are way down so maybe this is their fight back

I just spec'ed up a SQ5 Sportback. Not too many options as its so well loaded but it came to £81k.

My mate was also pondering. He's gone for a nearly new RS6 instead in the grounds depreciation would be similar. Makes you think

Quite like it but I'm at almost £77k with just paint and a towbar added, firmly in Macan GTS territory.

I just had a play with the GTS configurator. Nit even getting it to SQ5 trim levels was over £86k plus I know I'd tweak more. Then add in it's more expensive to own/service etc and it's a chunk more....and that's without even factoring in that already and with no effort I can get nearly 13% off an SQ5.

Fair enough but a Macan S is in the ballpark.

Don’t do it.

Changed my SQ5 for a Macan S and have regretted it from the moment I drove out of the Porsche dealer.

Dreadful backward step in terms of quality, comfort, kit, mpg and general driving. Feels cheap, interior wearing badly already, buttons in the wrong place, nothing is intuitive and hugely expensive to run (27mpg vs 36mpg in the 2018 SQ5). Sounds dull, drives dull and pdk is awful vs the Audi 8 speed.

Then there is the depreciation which has been monumental. As soon as we can stomach taking the hit, it’s back to an Audi.

‘Emperors new clothes’.

Sorry to hear that, a few years back I had a PT job delivering them and liked them. Not been in a new one though.
