Hi all, has anyone successfully swapped this A3 knob into an A6? I got it on and I can go through the gears but the button never springs back out so it just slides into R and P without pressing it. Really want to get this working as think it looks far better! Tia

You need to take the current own of to check the mechanism, I use a stripped down stronic 8v unit to do retrofits to other stronic cars with aide button units.

I need to check my A5 for this too as it's my original mod that the world copied lol

Got it I had to drill the opening out on the A3 knob to allow the selector rod to slide up and down easily and its working a treat looks much better!
 
Strange as usually they're the same diameter, but good job bud.

It was puzzling me but was sticking so wouldn’t drop back down, glad thats done as it was annoying me
 
It's the plastic rod that's not straight in the hole, a slight heating minimally would fix that, but same result.

The stock knob worked a treat so straightening it may have worked although it was very tight so reaming out the knob was the less risky option, massively better knob so much neater than the clunky stock offerings
 
I bought an RS one from Aliexpress, compared it to an OEM one and there is zero difference..
